Ural is the border of two parts of the world, a place where you can feel you are at the center of the largest continent. In the XVIII century, in Yekaterinburg, Vasily Tatishchev put forward a hypothesis, according to which the boundary is the backbone of the Ural Mountains. The very first obelisk of “Europe-Asia” was installed in 1837 near mount Berezovayaoy mountain. In 2008, a new obelisk was installed – a 30-meter high column of red granite with an eagle on top.
